Dr. Leslie Johnson is an Assistant Professor in Family Medicine in the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine at the Emory University School of Medicine in the USA. She is also affiliated with the Emory Global Diabetes Research Center. Dr. Johnson has a Master’s in Public Health and a PhD in Behavioral Sciences and Health Education from Emory University, and has completed international fellowships focused on the evaluation of behavioral and clinical interventions in India and Australia. As a NIMH-funded Fogarty Scholar, Dr. Johnson completed a realist process evaluation of the INtegrated DEPrEssioN and Diabetes treatmENT (INDEPENDENT) trial, a multi-site clinical trial aimed at testing the integration of a depression-focused intervention into existing diabetes care in India. Dr. Johnson has expertise in qualitative research and her current research interests focus on implementation science and health service research as it relates to chronic disease management.
