Claudia E. Ordóñez Anthropologist, M.A.I.R

Prof. Ordóñez, Anthropologist and M.A. in Intercultural Relations, is Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Hubert Department of Global Health, Rollins School of Public Health, Emory University. Using the lenses of medical and applied anthropology, her research interests include HIV/AIDS, plural health systems, traditional African medicine, and health equity with a focus on community engaged research approaches, interdisciplinary and trans-disciplinary research collaborations, and intercultural proficiency conceptualization, evaluation, and training. She also teaches courses in the Community Health and Development concentration of the Hubert Department of Global Health at Emory and has ongoing biomedical and public health research collaborations and consultancies in the United States and South Africa. Prof. Ordóñez is one of iHEART SA qualitative research leads and the project’s Community Engagement lead.
